General Sales Manager

Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Chalmers is recognised as a world leader in manufacturing and supplying of heavy duty suspensions systems to major truck OEMs in North America and other regions of the world. This position will be for a professional candidate stationed in the USA.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide management, support, leadership and coaching to regional sales managers across the United States and representatives across the globe.

Direct sales responsibility for large OEM truck manufactures throughout United States and other countries.

Participate in development of forecasts, targets and goal setting for regional sales managers

Develop and maintain information on the industry trends, competitor’s behaviours, preferences, new products and pricing structure.

Develop effective marketing strategy and business plan to penetrate new markets, new customers and market new products.

Build solid relationships with key OEM decision makers.

Attend major trade shows throughout the United States and participate in other industry events.

This role is ultimately accountable for individual and team productivity and will develop business relationships with customers and enhance customer loyalty by providing superior customer service.

 

Job requirements


Degree in Mechanical Engineering or strong technical background.

10 years plus experience in sales and business development preferably in trucking or heavy automotive industry.

Successful history and experience in providing support and leadership to sales staff.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

High energy, excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize

Ability to learn, motivate, coach, train and retain the sales team.

Strong negotiation, analytical skills and understanding of P&L management.

Ability to create strategic sales plans and manage their tactical and flawless execution.

Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
